Mixed feelings Jul 28, 2010 I love the Sigg bottles. But this cap is not quite up to my expectations. It does not open and close smoothly and feels like it will break, though it is sturdy. It is not open if I tighten the base too tightly, which does not make any sense. I bought two so I am sure its not a defect. It will do, but would have preferred a better designed product.

Welcome to the Germ Fest Jun 14, 2010 After reading reviews from frustrated users who disliked the "press-your-lips-into-it" style *other* top for Sigg bottles (which some folx said they had to use two hands and press hard to operate), I felt smart ordering this one instead.
However, ick! This is not a smart buy. This 3-Stage Sport Bottle Top is un-hygienic in its design. To open the valve for drinking, you have to pull on the nipple itself. Sorry, but the human hand is one of the germiest things on the planet. Especially if you are at a gym or other public place working out, you really would not want to be touching the drinking surface of your water bottle with your hand. If you wanted to ingest that many germs while drinking, you could just pour your water onto the weight equipment/treadmill handles/climbing wall/bathroom stall door handle and lap it up!
A well-designed Sigg cap is the one that *came with* my kid-sized Sigg SpongeBob water bottle. With that cap, when you touch the cap to get the nipple open, you grasp/twist an area surrounding the nipple rather than the nipple itself. Now one of those would be a replacement cap worth the money.
This one's going straight into the charity bin.

LOVE this bottle top! Locks for safety, but easy to use May 20, 2010 There is another cap, made by Sigg, that you have to exert pressure on while drinking to make it work. I do NOT like that other top. This top is perfect - you can lock it to prevent leaks when traveling, and if it's open it is easy to use. LOVE IT! My son and I both have this kind of top for our Sigg bottles, and use these tops exclusively.
Sigg bottle sports top Feb 11, 2010 This top is perfect for the Sigg bottle. Easy to use - twist and pull.
I am a teacher and it's perfect to grab and drink without worrying about it tipping and spilling.

Breaks when dropped May 12, 2009 I bought this style top for all our SIGG bottles, and the end snapped off when my daughter dropped it in the garage. Now, admittedly, this was a concrete floor, but I was disappointed that it was not more robust. It is also difficult for my children to pull open, although this may get easier with use.
